The 1993 year group of the Department of Publishing Studies formerly known as the Department of Book Industry has made a donation to the department. The presentation, worth about ten thousand Ghana cedis (GH ¢10,000.00), includes three (3) projectors, a projector screen and a pointer.

In a speech, Mr. James Adu Dadzie, a member of the 1993 year group showed his appreciation to the department and hoped that the presentation would enhance the relationship between the alumni and the department. He observed that the presentation was part of the activities marking the year group’s 20th anniversary celebration and hoped that the donation would help facilitate teaching and learning. He assured the students that they have made the right decision opting to study Publishing. His year group together with other year groups would therefore do all they can to create a Professional Publishing Association to promote Publishing studies in the country.
The Vice Chancellor, Prof. William Otoo Ellis, remarked that the presentation was historic and ground-breaking since it was the first time a year group had shown their profound gratitude in the form of a presentation to their department. He therefore advised the continuing students to emulate the act and give back to their department and society in future. He concluded that the university was proud of the year group. The donation had clearly demonstrated the fruition of the good seed sown by the university.
Dr. Ralph Nyaadu Addo, a lecturer and a member of the 1993 year group, showed his gratitude to the members of the year group in the United States for their generous contribution to the department. He hoped that the 1993 year group would have a meeting with the head of department to set their priorities since they had plans to fix four (4) air conditioners and tile the lecture rooms in future.
